Rupert Grint is stepping back into the shoes of Ron Weasley, a character he portrayed throughout the beloved Harry Potter film series, as he joins the Broadway production of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” Grint will take on the role for a 17-week stint starting in February 2027, marking a significant return to the wizarding world more than ten years after the films concluded.
In a statement, Grint expressed his excitement about revisiting the role of Ron, a character he first embodied at the age of 11. Now, as both he and Ron are depicted as fathers, Grint finds the experience both familiar and refreshingly new. His return to the stage follows that of Tom Felton, who recently reprised his role as Draco Malfoy in the same Broadway production. Felton is set to perform through January.
Since its premiere in London in 2016, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has expanded globally, captivating audiences with over 14 million tickets sold worldwide. The New York version alone has amassed more than $532 million in revenue.
