Thailand clinched the bronze medal in women’s volleyball at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 by defeating South Korea 3-0 on Tuesday. The victory at Park Arena Komaki marked Thailand’s fourth consecutive medal in this event, continuing their strong performance in the Asian Games.
The Thai team secured the win with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23. Although South Korea started strong in the opening set, taking an early lead, Thailand quickly countered with a series of effective attacks and robust serving, ultimately taking control and winning the set 25-20.
In the second set, South Korea again challenged Thailand early on by moving ahead 11-9. However, Thailand regained their momentum, bolstered by a powerful attack, and closed out the set at 25-19. The third set saw both teams neck-and-neck until Thailand reached match point at 24-23, finally securing the set and the bronze medal due to a South Korean error.
This achievement extends Thailand’s streak of podium finishes in Asian Games women’s volleyball. The team won bronze in 2014, silver in 2018, and another bronze in 2022. Additionally, their victory at the 2026 Asian championship has also secured Thailand a spot in the women’s volleyball tournament at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
