Vietnam and Japan are set to deepen their bilateral ties through expanded cooperation in various sectors such as diplomacy, security, trade, technology, and economic security. This development was underscored in messages from Japanese officials on the occasion of Vietnam’s 81st National Day.
Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu emphasized Japan’s commitment to working with Vietnam towards achieving mutual strength and prosperity. His sentiments were echoed by Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki, who noted that the bilateral relationship has reached a new stage, presenting opportunities for collaboration in finance, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and energy. She highlighted that such cooperation could not only boost economic growth but also contribute to regional stability.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu acknowledged the strengthening relations between the two nations, describing them as being at their peak. He pointed to the increasing cooperation in areas such as science and technology, innovation, green and digital transformation, and the development of skilled human resources as evidence of this robust partnership.
The Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership stands to benefit from these developments, with both countries recognizing their complementary economic strengths and the growing trust between them. Efforts are also being made to enhance parliamentary exchanges and cooperation, further solidifying the partnership.
Additionally, the Vietnamese community in Japan serves as a vital link, supporting economic and social connections between the two countries.
