Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng has completed a significant three-day official visit to Russia, returning to Hanoi after engaging in efforts to strengthen ties between the two nations. The visit, which included participation in the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit, marked the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations, underscoring Vietnam’s dedication to enhancing bilateral cooperation.
During his time in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng attended pivotal summit sessions and business forums. He also met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and regional leaders, focusing on expanding collaboration in critical areas such as investment, energy, trade, technology, and industrial development. These discussions aimed to foster deeper connections and mutual benefits in the long term.
The Vietnamese delegation actively engaged with major Russian organizations and businesses, facilitating the signing of several cooperation agreements. A noteworthy development during the visit was the launch of new direct flight routes connecting Vietnam and Russia, which is expected to enhance travel and economic interaction between the two countries.
This diplomatic mission highlighted Vietnam’s commitment to bolstering the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership, as well as advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia. Both nations reached a consensus on measures to deepen their cooperation, seeking to achieve tangible outcomes across key sectors. This collaboration is anticipated to support sustained economic growth and bilateral development, benefiting both parties involved.
