Qatar and Thailand are actively seeking to enhance their bilateral trade and investment ties following a recent meeting in Bangkok between key business leaders from both nations. The engagement saw Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari in discussions with senior figures from Thailand’s Board of Trade, including Songsang Patavanich and Jarudol Tulayakijja, focusing on expanding economic cooperation.

The dialogue centered on boosting trade and investment collaboration, with both parties exploring the potential for joint ventures and partnerships between companies from the two countries. Al Kuwari emphasized the robust economic relationship between Qatar and Thailand, pointing out that their bilateral trade is projected to reach around QR12.4 billion by 2025. He underscored the significance of private-sector collaboration in fostering future growth through strategic partnerships and investment initiatives in promising sectors.

During the meeting, the crucial role of business organizations in fostering such partnerships was highlighted. Al Kuwari noted that chambers of commerce play an essential role in connecting businesses, sharing market expertise, and identifying new avenues for investment that can fuel long-term economic cooperation between the countries.

Thai representatives reiterated their commitment to reinforcing economic relations with Qatar. They expressed their eagerness to collaborate closely with Qatar Chamber to facilitate business exchanges, attract investments, and broaden commercial partnerships between enterprises in both nations. This commitment underlines a mutual interest in expanding the economic ties between Qatar and Thailand, promising a dynamic future for bilateral trade and investment.
