Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson has successfully advanced to the men’s 100m semi-finals at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Boonson secured his spot by winning his qualifying heat with an impressive time of 9.95 seconds at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Japan.
In the women’s 100m event, Jirapat Khanonta also progressed to the semi-finals, achieving a personal-best time of 11.45 seconds to win her heat. Additionally, fellow Thai athlete Sukanda Petraksa clinched her place in the semi-finals by finishing third in her heat, clocking in at 11.54 seconds.
The upcoming semi-final races are scheduled to take place on September 25, with the women’s events occurring earlier in the day, followed by the men’s semi-finals. These performances highlight the strong showing of Thai athletes in the sprinting events at the Asian Games.
