Việt Nam has reaffirmed its commitment to international peace efforts by joining the Board of Peace, an initiative aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza and supporting long-term stability in the region.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of the Board of Peace’s founding charter in Davos, Deputy Prime Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn said Việt Nam is ready to coordinate closely with other member countries to implement the Gaza peace plan adopted under United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803. He stressed that Việt Nam’s participation reflects its consistent stance on peace, international law and support for the Palestinian cause.
The Vietnamese delegation attended the ceremony on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. Leaders and senior representatives from multiple countries across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Latin America also signed the charter.
During the visit, Deputy PM Sơn held meetings with senior US officials, reaffirming Việt Nam’s strong support for efforts to promote global peace and its willingness to contribute as a founding member of the Board of Peace. Discussions also focused on strengthening the Việt Nam–US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including trade and economic cooperation.
Việt Nam’s participation was welcomed by partner countries, who highlighted the country’s experience in post-war recovery and national rebuilding as a valuable contribution to Gaza’s reconstruction and broader peace initiatives.
