Vietnam and Côte d’Ivoire are taking significant steps to enhance their bilateral relations, focusing on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and various other strategic sectors. Vietnamese leader Tô Lâm emphasized the strengthening bond between the two nations, highlighting that by 2025, Côte d’Ivoire had emerged as Vietnam’s largest trading partner within Africa. He advocated for a broadening of trade activities to include more than the traditional staples of cashew nuts and rice.

The Vietnamese government is actively encouraging investment collaboration in diverse fields such as agriculture, telecommunications, oil and gas, digital transformation, cybersecurity, infrastructure, mineral processing, and the burgeoning electric vehicle industry. These sectors represent key opportunities for both nations to deepen their economic ties and leverage each other’s strengths.

Côte d’Ivoire has shown a keen interest in attracting Vietnamese enterprises to its shores, with a vision of expanding cooperative ventures across the West African region. The two countries recognize the potential for collaborative growth and are keen to build on these foundations to benefit from each other’s economic and industrial advancements.

In addition to economic and trade discussions, both nations are also committed to enhancing parliamentary exchanges, educational partnerships, workforce development, and fostering people-to-people connections. Such efforts aim to solidify the relationship further and ensure a robust, multifaceted partnership that benefits citizens in both countries.
