Enterprises are at the heart of Việt Nam’s sustainable development strategy, Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Đức Phớc said at the Việt Nam Corporate Sustainability Forum in Hà Nội. He emphasized that businesses are where innovation happens, where new models emerge, and where Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards take shape.
The Deputy PM outlined four priorities to support this transition: completing legal frameworks for a favorable business environment, building strategic infrastructure in energy and digital connectivity, expanding green finance, and mobilizing resources to help firms adopt sustainable practices. He stressed that 2025 will be a decisive year as Việt Nam concludes its current socio-economic plan and lays the foundation for becoming a high-income nation by 2045.
Business leaders described entrepreneurs as “soldiers of peace,” highlighting their responsibility to drive prosperity and inclusiveness. They called sustainability not just a corporate duty but a survival strategy, noting that ESG must guide both value creation and resilience.
The forum also stressed the importance of nurturing young talent, linking education with industry needs, and promoting innovation ecosystems. Delegates agreed that enterprises must integrate sustainability as a core growth strategy to ensure Việt Nam’s path toward a greener and more inclusive future.
