Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has praised Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction for its reforms and innovation, noting major progress in infrastructure development and institutional planning. Speaking at the ministry’s Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term in Hà Nội, he also outlined urgent tasks to address housing shortages, urban congestion, and digital transformation.
PM Chính highlighted Vietnam’s transformation in infrastructure, with the country on track to complete 3,000km of expressways by year-end. He pointed to milestones such as the Long Thành International Airport phase one and progress in airport planning and investment proposals for railway megaprojects like the North–South high-speed line and the Lào Cai–Hà Nội–Hải Phòng route.
Despite these gains, the PM emphasized persistent issues: a volatile real estate market, slow affordable housing progress, and insufficient adoption of green and digital strategies. He urged the ministry to focus on policy-level state management, streamline authority delegation, and embrace smart cities, green transport, and public-private partnerships to accelerate major projects.
The PM also called for exceeding social housing targets and advancing school infrastructure in border regions, while strengthening Party integrity to prevent corruption. The new leadership structure of the ministry’s Party Committee was also formalized, with 39 members, including returning Secretary Trần Hồng Minh.
