by admin477351

Vietnam and Denmark have upgraded their bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, aiming to enhance cooperation in areas including trade, investment, technology, and sustainable development. This development was announced during the state visit of Vietnamese President and Communist Party General Secretary To Lam to Denmark from October 19 to 21, 2026, marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The partnership builds on the Comprehensive Partnership established in 2013 and the Green Strategic Partnership launched in 2023. Both countries have committed to expanding political dialogue, parliamentary exchanges, and economic collaborations, with specific focus areas such as renewable energy, green technology, digital transformation, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and transportation. The agreement also aims to encourage business investments, strengthen supply chains, and improve market access through existing trade agreements.

A key component of the partnership is the commitment to climate action and the development of renewable energy projects, supporting Vietnam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Additionally, the agreement covers maritime security, cybersecurity, research, vocational training, agriculture, and public health.

Vietnam and Denmark have reaffirmed their dedication to international law, multilateral cooperation, and the peaceful resolution of disputes. They also expressed their support for regional stability, freedom of navigation, and stronger cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Both governments plan to develop action plans to implement the partnership, translating their commitments into practical cooperation that will benefit both countries.
