Qatar Chamber’s First Vice Chairman, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, recently held a meeting with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade relations between the two nations. The discussions, which took place at the chamber’s headquarters in Lusail, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the Qatari and Vietnamese private sectors, as well as exploring potential investment opportunities and identifying key areas for future collaboration.

Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships and joint investment projects with Vietnamese businesses. He praised the robust economic growth witnessed in Vietnam and underscored the chamber’s support for increased bilateral cooperation. In response, Ambassador Hiep highlighted Vietnam’s keen interest in deepening its economic relationship with Qatar, noting that their bilateral trade surpassed $860 million in 2024, reflecting a $100 million increase from the previous year.

The ambassador encouraged Qatari investors to consider opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, food processing, and halal products. He also pointed out the crucial role of Qatar Chamber in promoting Vietnamese agricultural and halal goods in the Qatari market. This aligns with the chamber’s goal of facilitating greater access to Vietnamese products for Qatari consumers.

Further strengthening this partnership, Ambassador Hiep invited Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City next September. This annual exhibition is a significant global trade event, focusing on sourcing, exports, and supply chain cooperation. It attracts international companies and industry leaders from various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics, offering a platform for expanding international trade connections.
