Vietnamese Prime Minister Strengthens Ties During Visit to Former Kuwaiti Leader

During an official visit to Kuwait, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met with former Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to honor his long-standing contributions to Vietnam–Kuwait relations. The two leaders reflected on decades of cooperation, including the former Kuwaiti PM’s landmark visit to Vietnam in 2007, which helped advance major projects such as the Nghi Sơn Refinery and Petrochemical Complex.
Prime Minister Chính highlighted Vietnam’s recent development progress and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to supporting Kuwait’s economic diversification goals. He emphasized that Vietnam stands ready to collaborate in energy, industry, supply chains, investment, and finance.
The former Kuwaiti prime minister praised Vietnam’s achievements and resilience, noting the country’s growing influence in Asia. He expressed appreciation for Vietnam’s supportive stance during Kuwait’s difficult periods and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Both sides shared optimism that the newly established Strategic Partnership will continue to build on their longstanding foundation of friendship and mutual support.
